Free 6 hour Treaty Course This course is a brief introduction to the Treaty of Waitangi and its implications. The main purposes are:
- to increase understanding of the Treaty by providing basic information about why it was written and what it says
- to address common misunderstandings

- different ways of seeing things – the ‘wave’
- setting the context
- reasons for a Treaty
- British intervention, incl the Declaration of Independence
- what the Treaty says

- redress, including settlements

Free 12 hour Treaty Course This course expands on what is offered in the 6 hour course. At the end of this course, you will be able to:
- describe the motivations of the British Crown & the hapu for having a Treaty
- explain Treaty articles and principles
- understand the consequences of what happened after the signing
- consider the application of Te Tiriti in your own life today
